SUNY Geneseo’s Milne Library invites applications for an entry-level, full­-time, tenure­-track, Resident Librarian at the Sr. Assistant Librarian rank. The Resident Librarian position is part of the ACRL Diversity Alliance, of which Milne Library is a member, which is dedicated to increasing the hiring pipeline of talented individuals from historically underrepresented groups. The initial appointment for this position is two-years with the potential for renewal.

SUNY Geneseo’s priority is teaching excellence, and we are seeking an individual with a strong commitment to the liberal arts. This individual will be a member of the Research Instruction Team and will participate in the library’s instruction program as well as serve as a liaison to academic departments. This individual will also work collaboratively with library staff, Computing & Information Technology, and faculty on the development of a digital humanities program. We are looking for a team member dedicated to user services who can thrive in an environment that encourages experimentation and creativity. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to collaborative work, strong outreach skills, and fostering a diverse and inclusive working/teaching environment.

The Resident Librarian will join a staff that has a well-established culture of innovation. The library has been recognized by the American Library Association for its Access Opportunity Program Summer Library Research Academy and received the 2018 ACRL Excellence in Academic Libraries Award.
