The Excite the Dream Program at ODU is designed for underrepresented scholars with a dream of pursuing a career in academia. This program provides an opportunity for underrepresented scholars to gain more insight into the professoriate by inviting them to participate in a virtual one-day experience designed to cultivate skills in teaching, research, and service. Scholars will have the opportunity to learn about ODU, present their research, receive scholarly advice from our award-winning faculty, and meet with our leadership.

Note: An invitation to participate in Excite the Dream does not guarantee an offer of employment at Old Dominion University. Similarly, not being selected for Excite the Dream has no bearing on future employment opportunities with the university.

To qualify for this program, one must be from an underrepresented population and will have completed their terminal degree by September 2025.
