Description
The Assistant Web Designer will assist the College of Fine Arts Media Specialist in the design, development, maintenance and troubleshooting of Web-related systems and technologies. He or she also works as a liaison to both, College IT team and University ITS, to ensure Web systems appropriately integrate, as well as, meet specifications.
Responsibilities
- Assists with design, development and maintenance of College-level Web systems
- Provides support to IT Team in monitoring and maintaining Web service servers
- Assists with consulting and analyzing the College of Fine Arts schools and departments to provide technical solutions
- Assists with the oversight of operation and compliance of various Web and Electronic technologies/media
(Minimum) Daily Duties
- Provides customized solutions and troubleshooting to the College of Fine Arts faculty & staff of Web related requests
- Actively participates in College email and help systems
- Assists College Media Specialist with providing Web-based solutions for the College and other long-term projects
- Assists College IT team to ensure security of all Web systems
- Works with College IT team to plan, develop, maintain and integrate Web systems
- Investigates new and innovative software and technologies and report findings to College Media Specialist
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills
- Programming: PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
- Content Management Systems: WordPress, Drupal
- Bash or SH command line utilities and scripts
- Accessibility and Usability Guidelines for Web and Electronic Media**
- Databases: MySQL, RSS or XML, and Relational concepts
- Design: Adobe CS
Preferred Skills
- Operating Systems: Unix, Linux
- Web Packages: PhpMyAdmin, Xampp or Lampp
- Word and Software Documentation
