Part time position - Web Programmer/Assistant

WFSU is the public broadcasting outlet for Tallahassee and Panama City, with a number of radio, television, and web services providing a wide range of content.  Our radio stations include news/information and classical music and are affiliates of National Public Radio.  Television services include WFSU-TV, our broadcast channel; 4fsu, a cable channel serving the Tallahassee area; and The Florida Channel, a statewide program service covering Florida government.  WFSU.ORG, our website, offers a wide array of content and streaming audio and video.

Seeking candidate with a broad range of knowledge of the Internet and a keen interest in multimedia. This is temporary employment working with our Director of Internet Services to meet the needs of departments across the organization.  Individual tasks/assignments include: construction and maintenance of XHTML pages, ability to appropriately create and use related imagery for the design of web pages (Photoshop), maintenance and creation of PHP pages and devices, maintenance/creation of SQL databases, knowledge of Macintosh computers and web servers using Apache 2 (or ability to learn), and disciplined use of content management systems to complete assigned tasks.

Required knowledge:  PHP, MySQL, XHTML, CSS, Adobe Photoshop.

Desired knowledge: Beginner’s knowledge of Adobe Flash as well as video and audio encoding protocol a plus. Flash (actionscript), video encoding.
