Social Media Planner

Position Purpose
As a dedicated social media expert, you will be expected to understand the dynamics of all the different social media environments, paid social executions and optimizations and be able to navigate the space comfortably. Other responsibilities will include brainstorming creative ideas, helping maintain the internal wiki, educating the agency on social media concepts, building presentations, conceptualizing POVs, and planning, negotiation and execution of digital media plans.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
· Liaise between internal departments/clients on social media/paid social opportunities and initiatives.

Expected to bridge the gap between social marketing plans & media plans
Responsible for setting all KPI’s & performance benchmarks for any strategy as it relates back to client business goals
Lead brainstorms for new social/innovation campaigns
Management of listening & conversation in the social media space and apply learnings to future social media opportunities
Assist in social media strategy development within paid, earned, owned social ecosystem
Lead the infusion of social media tactics/strategy into overall digital media plans
Develop & manage social media plans for key platforms (Facebook & Twitter); negotiate and purchase media as needed with other partner sites
Manage the day-to-day implementation of campaign activities, including management of the trafficking process for social media campaigns
Manage campaign authorizations, budgets & reconciliation process
Manage reporting, internal and client, for social media campaigns
Interact daily with and maintain rapport with digital media publishers and 3rd party social/API vendors
Research and qualify all new social media partner opportunities; bring innovative social publishers into the mix for campaign consideration
Analyze research data & media/social marketing info; issue reports to clients as scheduled/requested
Monitor and assess ongoing campaign performance, assist in strategic analysis of campaigns
· Maintain appropriate and responsive working relationships with internal departments, clients, partners, etc…

· Manage projects to ensure the appropriate allocation of hours towards specific clients and projects.

· Provide assistance with new business materials such as information gathering, presentation preparation and written proposal development.

· Stay up to date on new social media tools, best practices and how other organizations are using them so Moxie can continue to be an early adopter of these technologies.

Typically reports to Social Supervisor or Associate Director, Social Media

Job Requirements

May require occasional overnight travel

Education Required

Bachelor’s degree

Years of Relevant Experience

2-4 years in social media/community management position

Experience sourcing and managing content development and publishing

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in an agency setting
Digital Media Planning & Buying
Understanding of the paid, earned, owned social ecosystem
Deep understanding of the social media landscape – how it works, who’s important and how to leverage it.
Professionally and/or personally active and well versed on major platform in the social media space (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Worpress, etc..)
Experience with campaign management/ad serving technology (i.e. DoubleClick DART, Atlanta DMT)
Proficiency and solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, etc…)
Experience analyzing data and market research
Familiarity with basic accounting/math principles

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies

· Demonstrated ability to map out a marketing strategy and drive that strategy proven by testing and metrics

· Exceptional written and oral presentation skills required. Ability to write academically, editorially as well as basic business writing skills

· Hands-on experience working on social media initiatives for brands

· Must possess excellent project management, strategic thinking, and analytical skills, and be able to provide leadership and strategic direction to internal teams

· Ability to jump from the creative side to the analytical side, demonstrating why ideas are analytically sound.

· Experience managing client budgets, billing, timelines and other client fiscal management
