SR. WEB DEVELOPER JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Technical Leadership – provide technical guidance on best practices in web design, including current and emerging web authoring tools, W3C guidelines, popular site features and functionality
• Broad web technical knowledge
• Expert on web-authoring tools, including xhtml, xhtml mp, html, dhtml, xml, css and related client-side scripting languages; javascript, AJAX and jQuery
• Expert in ASP.NET 3.5+ and working knowledge of SQL 2005 and 2008
• Programming proficiency in VB, with C# a plus
• Experienced in web server configuration, application deployment, and database setup and maintenance
• Background with Telerik’s SiteFinity CMS a plus, as well as Telerik RAD controls
• Experience with YouTube API, ExactTarget API, Facebook Open Graph API a plus
• Experience with Telligent’s Community Server a plus
Staff Collaboration – provide trusted counsel to SJ&P staff on interactive technical and development issues; direct activities of web-related freelance resources
• Develop effective relationships with all departments throughout the agency
• Create a working environment that encourages and supports a positive mindset about the work as well as the client and agency staff that is involved
• Encourage, and demonstrate, unity behind team and agency decision-making
• Take decisive action/prudent risks in order to achieve objectives
• Ability to work in environment with casual workflow and communication style
Project Management – assist the development team in estimating development time and expenses and manage activities within those established parameters; consistently meet deliverables milestones.
Organizational skills – Should be able to handle multiple projects efficiently, effectively and productively
• Set priorities and manage time well
• Help group members manage their time
• Adapt to changes in workload and working conditions while maintaining a good attitude
• When required, accompany supervisor to client-facing meetings for Discovery, presentation of iterative development stages, or to provide general counsel
Travel – Primarily related to continuing education; conforms to established travel policies; other business related travel as required
• Turn in expense reports within seven days of expense.
Fiscal/ Administrative Responsibilities – Enter time on a daily basis. Require same of group members.
• Follow all standard agency policies and procedures.
• Check all invoices against estimates and P.O.’s prior to approval, and send to accounting in a timely manner.
