Position Summary The Staff Sales Engineer position is an entry level position in the Sales Engineer (SE) College Development Program, where you will learn about Citrix product technologies and Sales methodology to address business challenges. The skills you develop in the program will be put into practice as a member of the SE Service Desk. The SE Service Desk provides a framework for a 6-12 month rotation program working with different Citrix functional areas including (Inside Sales, Field Sales Engineers, Technical Support, or Consulting). Responsibilities will include the ability to effectively communicate and demonstrate the value proposition of Citrix technologies and advance the sales process in a competitive environment. This position requires strong communication, organizational, leadership, project management and problem solving skills with an understanding of Citrix’s products, sales strategy and overall corporate objectives.

Primary Duties / Responsibilities

The Staff Sales Engineer is responsible for: • Developing a technical sales foundation with good understanding of the Citrix Sales Methodology and consultative selling program. • Developing a technical understanding of the components of the Citrix product portfolio and how to install them. • Learning key technical concepts around desktop virtualization, server based computing, cloud computing, and network/systems architectures. • Developing effective problem solving skills, whereby individuals do research prior to seeking help from others. • Developing an understanding of pre-sales technical support for Citrix sales process to meet customer needs. • Conducting product demonstrations and presentations under the supervision of experienced Sales Engineers. • Developing time management skills and the ability to multi-task across multiple assignments. • Developing the ability to effectively network across multiple functional areas in an organization. • Providing regular and efficient updates on assigned accounts to sales engineering management. • Ensuring accurate and timely activity and issue updates in SalesForce.com and reporting to management. • Developing time management skills and the ability to multi-task across multiple assignments. • Supplementing their skills with self-study manuals, point of need training, and lots of practice

Qualifications and Requirements

• Must be willing to travel and relocate to Fort Lauderdale, FL for 6-12+ months for initial training and development.

• Must have demonstrated excellent academic achievement.

• Most possess good oral and written communication skills.

• Must be flexible, dependable, and capable of quickly learning new products and technologies.

 

Requirements (Education, Certification, Training, and Experience)

• Bachelor of Science, Engineering degree or equivalent technical experience.

• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly.

• Technical problem-solving ability.

• Positive customer service attitude. •

Ability to work effectively in a small team environment.

• Willing to travel 70-80% of the time.

• Preferred Technical Skills o Windows Server installation and configuration o Basic Networking concepts (TCP/IP, Routing, Networking) o Application Development, SQL, and/or scripting
