Job Description:

Aegis is accepting application for an experienced Technical Services Representative capable of providing high quality onsite and remote client support, including but not limited to Windows-based network, application and desktop support; infrastructure maintenance; server migrations and/or upgrades; router/firewall implementation; resolution of technical issues; and hardware and software installations and repairs.

Technical Services Representatives deliver tiered support onsite, remotely and/or via telephone for product applications, installation and use, including software application and setup; troubleshoot issues and implement corrective action for Aegis customer network systems in the Network Operations Center (NOC).

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Minimum of three years of technical support experience;
3. Detailed knowledge of firewalls (i.e., Fortigate, SonicWALL, Cisco, NETGEAR Prosafe) and the firewall access control lists that make them work.
4. Detailed knowledge of mail service systems, including Microsoft Exchange 2007, 2010, and 2013.
5. Detailed knowledge of database technologies and SQL (e.g., be able to back up a database and SQL maintenance plans).
6. Detailed knowledge of networking infrastructures, including but not limited to: IPv4 networking, routing, manageable switches, firewalls, NAS devices, iSCSI, Windows domains, SMB sharing and wireless networking.
7. Detailed knowledge of monitoring servers and network equipment, including but not limited to: remote access, SNMP, email alerting, and Windows Event Log.
8. High level of proficiency in supporting and configuring desktop applications, including but not limited to:

  • Windows operating systems (XP, Win7, Win8, and Win8.1)
  • Mac OSX
  • Knowledge of Linux Desktop is a plus
  • Microsoft Office Pro (2007, 2010, and 2013)
  • Adobe Acrobat (creator and reader)
  • QuickBooks
  • Secure communications (e.g. encrypting emails, files, and internet websites)

Other Required Skills and Abilities:

1. Intermediate end user proficiency in Microsoft Office and Visio
2. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
3. Must be detail-oriented with an excellent customer service orientation
4. Excellent written and oral communication skills
5. Ability to present ideas to customers in business-friendly and user friendly language
6. Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
7. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships at all levels within and outside of the company
