Responsibilities
- Serves as the main writer for Seminoles.com. Creates high quality written content on a daily basis by attending practices, news conferences, coaches shows and media opportunities. Responsible for generating story ideas that attract readers to the department’s official site and working with the Sports Information staff to execute those ideas. Assists in managing the Athletics Departments social media feeds while building a brand in social media. Uses the Seminoles social media outlets to attract fans to the written content and other unique content on the Departments official athletics website.
- Actively seeks out opportunities to discuss the Seminole athletic programs on a state and national platform in order to provide positive coverage and discussion of Florida State athletes, coaches and teams.
- Writes and edits copy for the Seminole Boosters Unconquered magazine. Assists SID staff in generating photos for the website at practices and special events.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in a appropriate area and two years appropriate experience or a high school education and appropriate education/experience equal to six years. Knowledge of and experience working with social media websites. Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously. Knowledge of applicable computer software and operating systems. Knowledge of journalism ethics, rules, and procedures. Experience writing and/or proofreading and editing written word and/or information in various formats. Ability to meet project deadlines.

This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check.
Pay Plan
This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.
