Elizabeth Mann, Professor Emerita at FSU, passes away

Dr. Elizabeth B. Mann, Professor Emerita at Florida State University, died at age 93 on October 12th. She passed away while in Gainesville, Florida.

Dr. Mann moved from Yale, OK to Tampa, FL when she was 3 years old. She obtained her A.B. from Florida State College for Women (FSCW), a BSLS from Carnegie Institute of Technology, and her M.A. and Ph.D. from Florida State University.

She gained acceptance into the Beta Phi Mu, Delta Kappa Gamma, Kappa Delta Pi, and Phi Delta Kappa honorary societies. She was also a member of Alpha Delta Pi and the PEO Sisterhood.

She was also a faculty member of the School of Library and Information Studies from 1978-1989 and served in the Faculty Senate and on its Steering Committee.

The College of Communication and Information previously gave out a scholarship in Dr. Mann’s honor.
