Position Summary
The Florida State University Foundation is seeking a Report Developer in the Department of Information Services (IS). The incumbent will be responsible for the fulfillment of data and report requests, providing end user support, investigating and resolving application, transactional and data-related issues of Blackboard’s Raiser’s Edge fundraising system. The Report Developer will be expected to uphold and exemplify the operating practices and mission of the Florida State University Foundation. Principal Responsibilities:
Produces or supports the production of standard and custom reports
Fulfills data requests for mailing lists, donor rolls, demographic and giving analyses
Participates as a member of the FSU Advancement Data Integrity Committee (FADIC)
Provides data manipulation and reporting assistance to other departments as needed
Facilitates the resolution of technical application issues
Tests, evaluates and reports on Raiser’s Edge application upgrades
Provides overall program support for Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge application
Assists with the development of audit reports in support of data management integrity
Designs, creates and maintains application and business process related documentation
Provides appropriate service, support and advice to end users regarding technical and reporting issues
Provides advice, guidance and training to users of Raiser’s Edge concerning the capabilities and functions of the system
Protects confidential information
Special Skills:
Experience utilizing T-SQL
Experience utilizing SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) or report design software
Strong aptitude for diagnosing end user problems, identifying and implementing solutions
Ability to evaluate and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations
Strong internal customer service delivery and a proactive approach to user efficiency
Excel at uncovering hidden trends in a volume of data
Detail oriented and organized with an ability to meet deadlines
Demonstrated history of functioning independently while working well in a team oriented environment, taking the initiative to be productive and efficient
Ability to effectively communicate with users of diverse backgrounds and skill levels
Working knowledge of relational database architectures
Working Relations
The Report Developer reports directly to the Associate Director of Information Services. The incumbent’s internal relationships include all Foundation personnel, collaborating specifically with data management and gift processing. External relationships include university staff, the FSU Alumni Association, Seminole Boosters and the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art staff.
Qualifications
Minimum three years of report development from a complex database environment. Demonstrated experience with developing and implementing reports using T-SQL and/or SSRS. Proven history of utilizing Microsoft Excel and SQL Server and other reporting tools. Understanding of standard IT policies and procedures, including usage of test environments and change procedures. :Educational Requirements:Bachelors degree from an accredited university.
