Some of the highlights of the day will be:

  • Syrgley Lecture. “The Student Information Scientist: An Analogy for Future Information Inquiry Environments” being presented by Daniel Callison, Professor and Executive Associate Dean of the School of Library and Information Studies at Indiana University.
  • Distinguished Alumni Award. Laurence Miller holds three degrees from the College of Information (Ph.D., 1971; Adv. M.S., 1970; M.S. 1963). He has been Executive Director of University Libraries at Florida International University since 1981. During his distinguished career, he has served libraries and librarianship on local, statewide and national levels.
  • Emeritus Status Commemoration. We will honor retired Dean Jane B. Robbins for achieving Emeritus Dean and Emeritus Faculty status at Florida State University. We will honor retired professor Tom Hart for achieving Emeritus Faculty status.
  • Awards, Scholarships, and more. We will honor the alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends of the College. Be sure to watch.
