Warner University, Lake Wales Florida seeks application for a proactive, collaborative librarian for a full-time position of Coordinator of Distance Library Services. This individual will work with classroom faculty and librarians to provide leadership in integrating library services into a growing program of distance education in graduate, undergraduate, hybrid, and online classes in accordance with Association of College & Research Libraries Standards.
This individual will be responsible for identifying and integrating technologies such as social networking, virtual reference, mobile technologies, and other Web 2.0 applications into the distance education program to support instructional and research activities for local and remote learners as well as exploring new technologies related to online teaching and learning and training librarians and staff in these technologies
This individual will lead interdisciplinary initiatives to ensure a meaningful library presence in online courses. He/she will be responsible for exploring the intersection of information literacy instruction, instructional design, and learning technologies and for providing leadership in effective teaching pedagogy as well as developing expertise in online instruction and serving as a resource and workshop facilitator in face-to-face and online environments.
This individual will participate in Research Help Desk rotation on-site and will share weekend/evening hours with other library staff and fill in at other service points as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Librarianship/Information Sciences from an ALA-accredited library program
- Experience in the delivery of library instruction to university students.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively use emerging and teaching/learning technologies, and the ability to adapt quickly in a rapidly changing environment.
- Commitment to the mission of Warner University.
- Permanent United States citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with distance education.
- Experience in delivery of online library instruction.
- Experience with asynchronous teaching and learning methods. Work experience or academic background in instructional design and instructional technology.
- Experience with management of mobile devices, including iPads and other technology.
