JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

On behalf of the Dalton Agency the Account Manager will provide strategic communications support to Dalton Agency clients in the areas of public relations and public engagement.

The Account Manager is expected to be responsive to agency and client requests including, but not limited to:

  • Participating in conference calls and meetings
  • Drafting press releases and advisories
  • Responding to media inquiries
  • Researching and proactively identifying media opportunities and pitching stories
  • Pitching stories identified by the client
  • Providing backup coverage for team colleagues
  • Development strategic, integrated communications plans
  • Developing overall key message points to solidify clients’ reputations in the media
  • Developing and maintaining wide list of media contacts (local, regional, national and trade/industry)
  • Planning and attending client events and serving as liaison to the media
  • Assisting in development of crisis plans and ensure availability to work with crisis team

Qualifications:

Must be a creative, results-orientated, communications professional with bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, English or related field; 5-7 years experience in media relations or public relations; excellent writing, editing and interpersonal skills; the ability to work successfully on multiple projects; the ability to work as part of team and also function at a high level independently; and perform effectively under pressure. Candidate must have experience with and relationships within the Orlando DMA. Public Relations experience in the theme park, entertainment industry or travel/tourism industry is preferred.
