Alumnus to Receive ASCLA Professional Achievement Award

CI alumnus Tom W. Sloan (MLIS 1984), executive director of the Southeast Florida Library Information Network (SEFLIN), is the 2006 recipient of the ASCLA Professional Achievement Award. The Association of Specialized and Cooperative Library Agencies (ASCLA) is a division of the American Library Association (ALA).

The award will be presented to Tom at the ASCLA Awards Luncheon during the ALA Annual Conference in New Orleans on June 24, 2006 from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. He receives it as a national leader within the ASCLA “who has achieved outstanding success as a state librarian, active member of professional associations, and an innovator in multi-type library cooperation.”
