To serve as a metadata assistant in the Digital Library Center at Strozier Library. Responsibilities include the creation and editing of metadata for digital objects in the FSU Digital Library, processing and cataloging of backlogged digital objects, and quality control on new digital objects as they are created. Some original digitization of objects may occur as needed for current projects. Other responsibilities may be given depending on needs of current and pending projects.
Strong candidates need to have attention to detail, organization skills, the ability to work alone once trained, as well as strong writing and computer skills.
Preferred: Interest in digital collections and metadata creation; experience in cataloging digital objects.
Position is for 15-20 hours a week at $8.00 per hour. The position is funded through August 24, 2014, and work must take place on campus. The Digital Library Center is open 8 AM to 5PM, Monday through Friday.
