The Information Institute at the School of Information Studies, Florida State University
is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Wonsik “Jeff” Shim as Assistant Director of the Institute.
Dr. Shim’s research interests center on the effective management of information centers and systems, and information habits. For his doctoral dissertation, Dr. Shim used a technique called DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) to analyze technical efficiencies of academic research libraries in the U.S. Recently, he has done extensive work dealing with usage statistics of electronic resources and services, including ARL (Association of Research Libraries) E-Metrics project. His data analysis expertise will be valuable to the Institute for upcoming projects related to the Clearinghouse for Library and Information Center Networked Statistics.
The Institute is pleased to have Dr. Shim join the staff and looks forward to working with him.
