Job Summary
Assist in the optimization of Universal’s Marketing Creative Group’s digital asset management platform, XDAM.
Description of Intern Role
- Process incoming digital files per standardized guidelines
- Upload files to XDAM (digital asset management system) per instruction
- Batch metadata tagging in XDAM (digital asset management system) as assigned
- Run routine quality control checks on processed assets
- Inventory digital assets against internal working server
- Provide instruction in the use of digital collections and archival resources
- Review archival records and create/edit descriptions
- Maintain accession workflows for digital assets
- Develop taxonomies and controlled vocabularies
- Administer the digital repository
- Enter metadata and create new and updated asset records when required

Key Skills / Experiences / Interests / Qualifications Required
- Enrolled in a degree program where managing digital assets is a core skillset (Library Science, Digital Arts, Information Technology)
- Able to learn and use a proprietary digital asset management system
- Experience working with digital assets of all types: images, videos, audio, graphics, text-based
- Descriptive cataloging or metadata for digital images and video
- Working knowledge of cataloging systems and tools for asset management
- Knowledge of digital archives theory and practice
- Quantitative and data management skills, facility with statistically-based reporting, primarily Excel
- Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail
- Excellent customer service
- Able to work collaboratively with core team, as well as other segments of the Marketing Creative Group
- Extensive knowledge of Apple OS
- Experience with Adobe products
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
We are looking for graduate students. Ideally, we would like someone who can work at least 30 hours per week, but this is flexible. This is a paid internship with the rate of $14.50 per hour.
