Applications are being accepted for the University Fellowship program, an enormous opportunity for graduate students.
The University Fellowship program provides a stipend of $15,000 to outstanding new and returning graduate students, for which no duties are required. All you need to do is be a full-time, degree-seeking student during the tenure of the award. In addition, tuition waivers for up to 12 hours each term are provided. This fellowship is awarded to provide graduate students the opportunity to devote an academic year to intensive, full-time study in their chosen field.
Ten of the University Fellowships are designated as Presidential University Fellowships. The $15,000 stipend is supplemented by $5,000 (total: $20,000) by the Office of Research. Candidates for the Presidential University Research Fellowship must be students newly enrolling for graduate study at Florida State University and must be in a Ph.D. program or a Ph.D. track.
The University Fellowship Application Form is used to apply for both fellowships. A completed application must be submitted by Jan. 9, 2004. There is a section on the Application Form for the chair of the program to certify that the applicant is eligible for the Presidential University Research Fellowship.
