The Manatee County Library System is currently recruiting for a Librarian II position.
This role supports the Information Services’ section at the Downtown Central Library, acting as Assistant Supervisor of Information Services, and will be called upon to supervise staff members and library volunteers as needed. The Librarian II provides reference and technology support to the public while maintaining awareness of library service trends and information sources, with an emphasis on reference, business, workforce development, social services and historical preservation. The role also assists in facilities management, scheduling, adult programming, and outreach, while acting as site coordinator for the virtual reference service Ask a Librarian.

Built in 1978 and renovated in 2015, this destination library features meeting rooms, study rooms, Area 52 creative lab, mobile demo kitchen, large research and genealogy collections, and the Eaton Florida History Room, all overlooking striking views of the river.
