Florida Conservation Voters’ Communications Intern will serve as a strategic, innovative social media guru, focusing on stakeholder engagement, data-driven campaigns, and meaningful analytics and goal-setting. The intern will be closely supervised by the Communications Manager and gain skills and training related to their career ambitions in digital communications.
The intern must be getting college credit and/or volunteer hours in exchange for their service. The intern’s commitment must coincide with a school semester and/or predetermined 12-week period. FCV will provide a $720 stipend for a 20hr/week internship. The stipend is for associated costs – transportation and technology – and will be paid to the intern half at the start of their internship and half at its conclusion.
Intern will facilitate digital communications needs including (ordered by priority):
SOCIAL (60%):

Daily social media maintenance including follower relations and engagement and channel monitoring

Weekly social media planning including strategic campaigns, stakeholder research and engagement

Monthly analytics
CONTENT CREATION (30%):

Blog-writing
-
Light graphics and video production as needed
MEDIA RELATIONS (10%):

Curating media lists
-
Media tracking on as-needed basis

Reporter and issue-based research
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in social media content creation and strategy;
- Beginner or intermediate level of knowledge on Florida environmental science and policy;
- Reliable, consistent, detail-oriented, and self-motivated;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Spanish preferred but not required
