The ability to tell stories through creative writing and visual platforms, to convey messages to internal and external audiences.
Proficiency with Associated Press style including writing, copy-editing and proofreading.
Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Keynote.
The ability to work independently and in a team environment with strategic oversight.
Demonstrated computer proficiency within a Mac environment.
Previous internship experience in Communications or related field.
Previous reporting or creative writing experience with a student or professional publication in print, television or online media.
Experience with photography for web or print publications.
Proficiency in traditional and social media research and analytics.
Experience with visual storytelling, such as event or presentation design.
Experience in video production, including concept development, filming and editing.
Currently enrolled as a junior or higher pursuing (or recently graduated with) a degree in Communication, Journalism, Visual Communications, Public Relations or a related major.
GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Media materials: Media alerts, press releases or video news releases.
Internship Eligibility:
At the time of application, must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from an accredited college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must not have completed one year of continuous employment on a Disney internship or program.
Must possess unrestricted work authorization
Must provide full work availability
Must provide own transportation to/from work
Current Active Disney cast members must meet Professional Internship transfer guidelines (for Walt Disney World cast members this is no more than four points and one reprimand in the last six months; for Disneyland cast members this is six months of consecutive service and a performance record clear of any disciplinary issues (warnings, suspensions, etc.) for at least six months)
Program Length:
The approximate dates of this internship are June 2020 through January 2021. Interns must be fully available for the duration of the internship.

A dynamic team of communicators supporting a variety of areas at Walt Disney World Resort to deliver timely and effective internal and external communication, both written and visual, while enhancing the reputation of the Walt Disney Company. From developing Cast Member and media event materials to supporting grand openings of attractions, resort hotels and more during a time of unprecedented growth at Walt Disney World Resort, our interns are a vital part of the team. While there’s no “typical day” as part of Walt Disney World Communications, our interns often craft written messages, develop creative visual and social media content, assist in traditional and social media monitoring and capture photography and video at our theme parks, resorts and community events.
The Communications team works within Public Affairs, which also includes Corporate Citizenship, Government Relations, Public Relations and Executive Communications.
