Are you looking for a position in a fast-paced academic library working with diverse clients? If so, FSU University Libraries is seeking self-motivated and directed Senior Reference Associates who enjoy troubleshooting and finding answers for diverse questions and patrons. Senior Reference Associates will work with the coordinators of Virtual Reference as we transition to a new staffing model as well as assisting with face to face research help.

Responsibilities will include providing back up on Virtual Reference, providing quality control for the service, assessing the service, helping to plan future directions for the program, scheduling, and maintaining communication with the rest of the Virtual Reference staff at FSU University Libraries. Virtual Reference includes answering questions about library policy, finding resources for a variety of topics, assisting with citation management, troubleshooting with both using the library resources and technology, as well as assisting with directional and campus related inquiries.

This position will also assist with research in order to improve training and staffing models for reference and virtual reference, and will provide some of the training both in person and online. Additionally Senior Reference Associates will staff the Research Help Now desk, assisting library patrons with point of need research needs. Experience with customer service is a must, experience in a library or teaching is preferred. Will also assist Librarians in research projects regarding Reference.
