Graduate Assistant @ CCI

THE POSITION

The Graduate Assistant helps provide services to students to give them the proper tools and guidance for admission into these demanding academic programs, for freshman, sophomore, and transfer students. This is a 0.25 FTE/10 hour per week appointment compensated by a stipend and tuition waivers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Training and supervising undergraduate advising center staff/office management

• Advising and providing resources for students wanting to gain admission to the College

• Guiding students in making informed major and career decisions

• Assisting with Orientation and Application Information sessions

• Managing the daily operations of the Front Desk area of the CCI Dean’s office and WJB location

• Assisting with other College projects as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

• Admitted in an FSU Graduate Program

• Ability to relate well to others, especially students and student groups

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

• Ability to receive and follow instructions related to assigned programs and activities

• Skilled in the use of computers and appropriate software i.e. Excel, PowerPoint
