FSU’s Leading Hispanic & Multicultural Marketing Program Marks Two Decades of Excellence in Education, Research, and Marketing Impact

TALLAHASSEE, FL – The Center for Hispanic Marketing Communication (CHMC) at Florida State University (FSU) celebrated its 20th anniversary with a captivating gala on October 11, 2024, held at the beautiful FSU Alumni Center. This special event marked two decades of groundbreaking work in the field of Hispanic and multicultural marketing.

The gala featured live music from talented performers, including the FSU Mariachi, the Heartwood Court band, and the Latin Soul Orchestra. Attendees enjoyed exquisite dining options and had the chance to participate in a silent auction. The event brought together students, alumni, Advisory Board members, faculty, and notable guests, including FSU President Richard McCullough and First Lady Dr. Jai Vartikar.

“Each of you exemplifies excellence, cultural pride, and leadership. We are truly honored to celebrate your achievements tonight,” said President McCollough as he finished his welcome remarks.

During the evening, the Center acknowledged individuals who have made significant contributions to the Hispanic community. Among the honorees were Timbalero Tito Puente Jr., actor Carlos Carrasco, sports commentator Enrique “El Perro” Bermudez, and FSU alumna Vivian De las Cuevas-Diaz, who is the first Latina to be appointed to the Florida State University Board of Trustees.
