Summary: Ruvos is seeking an intern to support our community partnerships, philanthropic efforts, and business relations. This internship includes working with our existing partners as well as helping us establish and grow new efforts. A key objective is to nurture meaningful relationships within key community groups. The Community Engagement Intern, is the principal ambassador for their organization with responsibilities for delivering the employer’s vision within the local community. The intern will have a hybrid schedule, with working onsite at the Ruvos headquarters 50% and remote work the other 50%. The intern will report to the Office of the Chairman of the Board, Eddie Gonzalez Loumiet, who is also the Chair-elect for the Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce in 2025 and Chair in 2026.
In addition to working with the community, the intern will also have the opportunity to learn and contribute to efforts related to economic development of Tallahassee. These activities include:
- Support Community Engagement: Assist in planning and executing community-focused initiatives that drive economic development and strengthen local business relationships.
- Event Coordination: Participate in the coordination of Chamber events, from logistics and vendor relations to attendee engagement and event promotion.
- Relationship Building: Help build and maintain relationships with local business leaders, government officials, and community stakeholders.
- Research and Data Analysis: Conduct research on economic development trends and prepare reports to support strategic Chamber initiatives.
- Administrative Support: Manage schedules, prepare meeting materials, and handle correspondence to ensure smooth communication and organization.
- Marketing and Communications: Assist with developing content for newsletters, social media, and Chamber announcements to promote Chamber activities and engagement opportunities.
Learning Opportunities Include:
- Nurture meaningful relationships with key community groups and following up with partners as needed
- Act as one of the principal ambassadors for Ruvos with responsibilities for delivering Ruvos’ vision within the local community
- Assist with the implementation of community outreach programs, organizing and attending events, and managing calendar
- Participate in writing and releasing publicity material such as press releases and developing public relations strategies to promote the organization’s mission
- Provide administrative support when required to include booking appointments and taking meeting minutes
- Database building (eg. updating email or contact lists)
- Research on specific topics for blog posts, newsletters, or others

Skills & Experience:
- Must be a current college student (preferably Junior, Senior, or Graduate Student) with a preferred major in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business
- Must be located in the Tallahassee area and available to work at the Ruvos headquarters
- Experience with creating slideshows (Powerpoint/Keynote/Slides Presentations)
- Strong understanding of social media and marketing campaigns
- Excellent interpersonal skills are a must, and you’ll need to be a team player to build rapport with various community groups and organizations
- Enthusiastic communicator with solid follow-through skills
- Collaborative and innovative, willing to share ideas and brainstorm
