Orlando Economic Partnership Seeks Event Internship
Reporting to the Director of Events, the Events intern provides support in creating, planning, executing and wrap up for the OEP’s annual events.
When not on site for an event, the internship occurs in the OEP office. Free parking is provided. Hours are 9:30am-5:00pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Some flexibility in work hours is possible.
The intern will normally work approximately 20 hours per week. When preparing for or working on events, those hours can increase significantly but interns will have advance notice. Work hours may include early mornings, long days or late hours both indoors and outdoors with physical activity including lifting/carrying items, long periods of standing/moving, and a lot of computer typing/work.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with the creative development of events
- Assist with the planning phase of events including inventorying necessary supplies and equipment needed; coordination with 3rd party vendors and suppliers
- Assist with communication to guests, vendors, suppliers and OEP staff members
- Prepare for and assist with the execution of events and capture notes on outcomes to prepare wrap up reports
- Attend meetings, take minutes, and distribute as required
- Assist with creating and maintaining budgets, timelines, and other planning documents and tools
- Assist with creating collateral pieces, presentations, documents and materials
- Assist with pulling and maintain registration reports, sponsor reports, monthly reports
- Other duties as assigned

- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams)
- Proficient with Canva or other programs to draft diagrams for venue layouts
- Proficient with technology quickly learning new programs and can apply learnings to other situations
- Efficiently and effectively reviews, analyzes and compiles data
- Project management skills with focus on attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

Internship Requirements: The position is open to individuals at least 18 years of age, who are currently enrolled in a university or college and able to work minimum 20 hours per week.
