Library Services Coordinator 

ORLS is seeking a Library Services Coordinator to support the operations of a thriving regional library system.

Ocmulgee Regional Library System serves 7 counties in middle Georgia. Our mission is to connect the community to resources, technology, and each other. We provide a talented staff, welcoming spaces, and diverse resources to meet our community’s needs.  Our headquarters is located in Eastman, Georgia.

Purpose: 

This position will play an integral role in strengthening public services by evaluating practices, improving consistency between locations, and helping develop procedures and best practices that support excellence in customer service. A major focus of this position will be supporting Branch Managers in their work. This position will regularly visit our member libraries and build relationships with the staff. The Library Services Coordinator has broad decision-making authority for routine operational matters and some decision-making responsibilities for non-routine matters.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Performs varied supervisory, operational, and administrative duties, on a day-to-day basis, as required.
  • Recommends library service improvements.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve customer experience and acts on them.
  • Assists staff and management in facilitating library projects and programs.
  • May represent the library at community events.
  • May attend public meetings to support management on library projects, proposals and activities.
  • Prepares and maintains records and reports of varied monthly, special and annual reports; follows up on assignments to determine progress and date of completion of projects.
  • Attends training and conferences as required or assigned; actively participates on committees and teams as directed; navigates change well.
  • Works the hours and/or shifts assigned and begins and ends work on time.
  • Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
