Dr. Greg Riccardi of the School of Library & Information Studies received a National Science Foundation grant of $483, 582 for a project entitled “Collaborative Research: Data Integration for Repository Services in Biodiversity Informatics. He and co-principal investigator Dr. Austin Mast of the FSU Department of Biological Science are collaborating with the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Kansas to create a distributed information system that integrates image-based morphological (form, structure and configuration of organisms) data to improve species and specimen identification.
