FSUshadow Leading Seminoles to Employment

Desireé Williams began shadowing at The Florida Auditor General through FSUshadow in the Fall of 2016 as an iSchool student. Here she was able to get a look at the day-to-day happenings in an IT department.

“It was great to see several concepts that are taught in the classroom actually being used in the workplace.”

During her shadowing experience at The Florida Auditor General, Desireé was offered an OPS position as a Web Designer for the following semester. After graduating from the School of Information in the Spring of 2017, she accepted a full-time position with the company as an IT Audit Analyst. In this position, this iSchool alumna is responsible for designing, programming, testing, implementing, operating, maintaining, and analyzing information technology systems.

Thanks to the Career Center, students like Desireé have the chance to get exposed to a variety of career fields and industries. FSUshadow gives students first-hand experience in the work communities they desire to join, while providing networks and access to potential employers.
