Remembering Diem Brown in “Challenge Throwdown for the Cause” in Orlando, FL on June 30

Diem Brown graduated from Florida State University in 2003. She was on many seasons of The Challenge on MTV where she was also an entertainment reporter. A two-time cancer survivor, after a courageous fight, Brown passed away in November 2014 from ovarian cancer at the age of 34. Friends of Brown’s are hosting an event, “Challenge Throwdown for the Cause,” to raise money for the FSU’s Diem Brown Scholarship Fund on June 30th in Orlando, Florida.

Diem Brown loved everything FSU. She took advantage of academic and extracurricular activities during her time as a student and was a dedicated member of Delta Gamma Sorority. Even after graduating, Brown remained involved with the University and had an incredible amount of Seminole pride.

The Diem Brown Scholarship Fund supports Brown’s lifelong wish to provide resources to those experiencing hardships. The scholarship is awarded to students who need emergency financial assistance due to unforeseen and extenuating circumstances that affect their abilities to pursue their academic goals. Donations ensure that new generations of Seminoles will be able to pursue their education regardless of life’s obstacles.

Brown’s friends continue efforts to raise money for the Diem Brown Scholarship Fund. Cast members from The Challenge are hosting “Challenge Throwdown for the Cause” at Howl at the Moon in Orlando on June 30th. General Admission tickets are $50, VIP $80, and Escape Room & VIP tickets $125. Open to all ages, the event will have between six to twelve The Challenge cast members present.

All proceeds of the event will be donated to the Diem Brown Scholarship Fund and MedGift, a nonprofit organization Brown founded that provides help to those facing health-related hardships.

Through the Diem Brown Scholarship Fund, Diem’s unconquered spirit and legacy will live on forever.
