SCOM Alumnus Becomes Chief Marketing Officer of Two CVS Health Subsidiaries

In May 2023, School of Communication alumnus Brian Parrish (B.S. ‘98) became the Chief Marketing Officer for ActiveHealth Management and Health Data Management Solutions (HDMS), both part of the CVS Health family of companies.

ActiveHealth and HDMS support over twenty million members through a whole health approach that helps members find a balance between body, mind, and spirit while also identifying and closing gaps in healthcare so that members can get the right care at the right time.

“Working for a nationally known company that is delivering so clearly on helping people live healthier lives is extremely exciting,” Parrish said. “I have an opportunity to share so many amazing stories in so many amazing ways with the power of a world-class brand behind these efforts. It really is a marketer’s dream.”

Parrish has worked in healthcare marketing for over twenty years, having previously served as Vice President of Marketing for The Craneware Group and Executive Vice President of Dodge Communication. He is eager to promote innovative technologies and ideas that can help provide better healthcare for consumers in his new role.

When reflecting on his career, Parrish attributed much of his success to the education he received as a communication student. “I remember being challenged to come up with new ways to leverage communications as a strategic asset instead of just a tactical one,” he said. “That is something I draw upon every day.”
