SLIS alumna Totolo wins 2010 ASIST International Paper Contest

SLIS alumna Dr. Angelina Totolo (Ph.D. 2007) has won first place in the 2010 International Paper Contest of the American Society for Information Science and Technology (ASIST). As the first place winner, she has been invited to participate in the ASIST 2010 Annual Meeting being held Oct. 22–27 in Pittsburgh.

“I am over the moon with excitement and I am definitely coming for the conference,” said Totolo. She is a faculty member at the Department of Library and Information Studies at the University of Botswana. Her dissertation is titled Information Technology Adoption by Principals in Botswana Secondary Schools.

“This will be an important conference and your participation will be greatly appreciated,” Richard Hill, executive director of ASIST said in an official invitation letter, “We very much welcome your attendance and the perspective you can provide to our deliberations. We look forward to welcoming you to the ASIST Conference.”

In addition to providing her with complimentary registration, ASIST will provide Totolo with a stipend to help cover the cost of an airline ticket, hotel, and other expenses of attending the conference.
