The 3-MTTM Competition Finals will take place on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 6 p.m. in the College of Medicine auditorium.  All FSU faculty, staff, and students are highly encouraged to attend.  Please support the participants and contribute to the selection of the People’s Choice Award that will be chosen by the event’s audience members.

Three Minute Thesis LogoThe 3MT™ is a competition for doctoral students to explain their research in just three minutes using language appropriate for an intelligent but non-specialist audience.  This event is conducted internationally and finalists are selected from a wide range of academic programs.  Sixteen judges helped the FSU Graduate School in the selection of twelve finalists who will explain their dissertation topics and their significance.

In her home country of Jamaica, Neleen attended the University of Technology.  She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing with a minor in International Business.  After graduation, Neleen worked for three years in marketing for a local distributor in Jamaica.  Upon being awarded a Fulbright scholarship in 2010, Neleen moved to Tallahassee to pursue a master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communication at FSU.  She decided to continued her education at the School of Communication as a doctoral-degree seeking student.

Starting January of 2014, Neleen was elected to begin serving as President of the National Association of Graduate-Professional Students (NAGPS).   Read a previous CCI news story published Dec. 12, 2013 about how “COMM doctoral student elected 2014 president of the National Association of Grad Professional Students” at: news.cci.fsu.edu/cci-news/comm-student-elected-2014-nagps-president
