Florida State University (FSU)’s Delta Zeta Sorority will be hosting their fifth annual Hamburgers for Hearing fundraising event on Friday, Oct. 25 from 5-7 p.m. This barbeque will take place at their sorority house, located at 749 W. Jefferson St. Tallahassee, FL 32304.
Tickets for the barbeque are $7; meals will include a hamburger or hotdog, along with chips, a drink, and dessert. For entertainment, there will live music and other backyard games, including a competitive tug-of-war contest. The teams for this contest are to be no more than five participants, and it will cost $30 to register a team.
If you have any questions about this upcoming barbeque event, feel free to contact the Delta Zeta Philanthropy Chairwoman, Taylor Corrothers, at 850-381-0879 or atc11c@my.fsu.edu.
Delta Zeta’s national fundraising partnerships focus on speech- and hearing-related causes. The FSU chapter was started the annual BBQ in 2009 with a $25,000 endowment that helps to benefit the L.L. Schendel Speech & Hearing Clinic operated by the FSU School of Communication Science & Disorders. The sorority pledged to contribute $5,000 a year for five years; the funding supports clinical training for students and community outreach for children and adults in the Big Bend region with various types of communication delays and disorders. This past year, the Delta Zeta members were already able to raise over $10,000 for the Clinic.
