CI Faculty, Staff Selected for FSU Awards

College of Information assistant professor Paul Marty and undergraduate advisor Scott Thorp have been selected as recipients of a Florida State University 2004-05 University Teaching Award and University Advising Award, respectively. The awards are presented by the FSU Office of the Provost and Academic Affairs.

Paul Marty received one of two Graduate Teaching Awards, which recognize faculty members for teaching excellence. Nominations are submitted by students and alumni, and recipients must be outstanding in many areas which contribute to successful teaching and learning.

Scott Thorp received one of three Undergraduate Advising Awards, which recognize individuals who dedicate their time to assuring that students receive the best possible advice related to their course and career choices. Recipients of these awards are nominated by students who have been the beneficiaries of their services.

Paul and Scott will receive their awards at the Faculty Awards Ceremony to be held on Monday, April 11. Each award carries an honorarium of $2,000. With great pride, we congratulate these two priceless members of the College of Information family.
