Professor Eliza T. Dresang, Eliza Atkins Gleason professor at the FSU College of Information, will receive the Scholastic Library Publishing Award at the 2007 Annual Conference of the American Library Association (ALA) in June.

The award is “presented to a librarian whose unusual contribution to the stimulation and guidance of reading by children and young people exemplifies outstanding achievement in the profession.” Dr. Dresang developed an analytical approach to resources for youth known as “Radical Change,” and has published extensively in this area, including her book, Radical Change: Books for Youth in a Digital Age. Three national conferences have been held on the topic of Radical Change.
