Dr. Nancy Everhart, associate professor in the School of Library and Information Studies and director of the PALM Center (Partnerships Advancing Library Media), was quoted in a Tampa Bay Times article. She discusses some reasons advising against the removal of media specialists from primary education in Pasco County, FL.
Everhart, who has expertise in media and digital curriculum, brought up that trying to cut costs by removing media specialists and expecting students to cope without them “just doesn’t work.” She also commented on the changing role of media specialists as technology advances.
