A Florida State University team of faculty and staff that was responsible for negotiating the campus-wide contract for computer anti-virus and anti-malware software has been awarded a 2010 Prudential-Davis Productivity Notable Award.
Hans Meyer, director of technology for the College of Communication & Information and a member of the team, will share the $250 award with the other members of the team.
The anti-virus solution selected, McAfee, consolidates all of the University’s anti-virus solutions under one campus-wide management system, avoiding the cost of each academic unit going their own way. Plus, the contract offers FSU students the McAfee anti-virus and anti-malware for only $0.50 a year.
The winners will receive their awards at the annual Prudential-Davis Productivity Award luncheon on Friday, June 4, 2010, at the Tallahassee-Leon County Civic Center.
Florida TaxWatch presents the Prudential-Davis Productivity Awards each year, publicly recognizing and rewarding state employees and work units whose work significantly and measurably increases productivity and promotes innovation to improve the delivery of state services and save money for Florida taxpayers and businesses.
