Rayburn, Randeree named Guardians of the Flame

Dr. Jay Rayburn, associate professor of Communication, and Ebe Randeree, assistant dean of the College of Information, were selected as 2009 recipients of the Guardian of the Flame awards for their respective colleges.

The awards, sponsored by the Burning Spear Society, are presented to faculty members who embody the ‘Nole spirit and engage the university community in celebrating Florida State University’s accomplishments and laying a foundation for its future.

commitment to FSU to one unified college beginning July 1, when the College of Communication & Information is launched. Faculty of the two colleges voted recently to merge and the provost gave his approval.

The Burning Spear Society advances The Florida State University as a leading institution of higher education by promoting and supporting outstanding members of the university community and strengthening campus traditions.
