SCSD Graduate Students Awarded Scholarships

Two of the graduate students in the School of communication Science and Disorders were awarded the Larry Director Graduate Student Scholarship from the Florida Speech-Language-Hearing Association (FLASHA). The Larry Director Graduate Student Scholarship is awarded to outstanding graduate students in the fields of speech and hearing sciences who are members of FLASHA. The two graduate students. Jennifer Barry and Christie Jones, were each awarded $1,000 for the 2011-2012 school year. FLASHA awarded only three Director Scholarships this year out of all eligible applicants.  There are seven universities in Florida who educate future speech-language pathologists and/or audiologists. FLASHA is the state professional organization for speech-language pathologists and audiologists.
