A service learning project conducted by College of Information students has been highlighted on the Lutheran Social Services of North Florida homepage. The team of students worked in conjunction with the FSU Service Learning Program, Center for Leadership and Civic Education. With guidance from their instructor, Melissa Raulston, the students were able to gain valuable real world experience and provide a tremendous service to local organizations in collaboration with the Lutheran Social Services of North Florida (LSSNF).
During their experience at LSSNF, the students helped refurbish computers that were donated by Tallahassee companies. LSSNF gives these computers to community-based organizations in need of upgraded computers once they are repaired. These students have built strong, positive relationships with the staff members of the local organizations that have received the new computers.
