OPS Interlibrary Loan Assistant @ Law Library, FSU

Responsibilities

The OPS Interlibrary Loan Assistant will provide direct administrative support to the FSU College of Law Research Center. Must have excellent customer service and communication skills, in person, on the phone, and over email. Must be organized and demonstrate the highest attention to detail. Responsibilities include:

  • Processing borrowing interlibrary loan requests received from the College of Law faculty and students, including office deliveries
  • Processing lending interlibrary loan requests received from outside libraries via OCLC WorldShare
  • Use a variety of discovery tools to determine ownership, availability, and location of materials
  • Customer service to other librarians, faculty, students, and visitors
  • Other library-related duties as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to recognize a variety of bibliographic citations and materials
  • Ability to pay meticulous attention to detail, demonstrated capacity for carrying out tasks in an accurate and timely manner, and ability to check own work for accuracy
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to draft basic business correspondence
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently and follow through on tasks with minimal direction
  • Professional demeanor; and proper office, e-mail, and telephone etiquette
  • Familiarity with standard office procedures and equipment, including flatbed, and multi-page scanners
  • Ability to adhere to established work hours

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply University policies and procedures, principles, and practices
  • Some familiarity with OCLC WorldShare, ILLiad, or related systems
  • Working knowledge of Alma or other integrated library systems
  • M.L.I.S. degree or active, degree-seeking M.L.I.S. student
