Communications Intern (unpaid) @ FSU Division of University Advancement

The Communications Intern will contribute to the FSU Division of University Advancement’s (DUA) communications efforts, primarily in the areas of social media content creation, email marketing, editing and Vires pre- and post-production.

The internship is within a highly collaborative communications team that is responsible for communicating about FSU’s alumni relations and fundraising efforts. The intern will assist various members of the team with creating content for DUA social media accounts, creating DUA emails in Emma (an email marketing platform) and editing a variety of print and digital communications materials. The intern will also assist the editor-in-chief with producing Vires— an award-winning biannual publication produced by Florida State University Advancement for FSU alumni, parents and friends. Preference will be given to applicants who have previous professional experience related to the internship responsibilities and who have experience communicating with alumni in a professional capacity. Experience promoting a student/professional organization or school on social media is preferred.

Qualifications/Skills Required:

  • Professional experience creating and editing content for social media
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing experience
  • Experience creating emails through an email marketing platform
  • Enthusiasm and a positive attitude
  • Creativity
