Description
The Florida Department of Revenue’s Office of Communications is looking for an intern for the 2017 summer and fall semesters. The Department employs more than 5,000 dedicated professionals across the state and nation who are charged with administering Florida’s general tax, property tax oversight and child support programs. As a member of the communications team, you will have the opportunity to assist with a variety of internal and external communications projects that help the Department carry out its mission-critical duties for the State of Florida.
The ideal candidate will be available to work 20 hours a week, preferably morning hours starting at 8:00 a.m. for no less than 3 days a week. Candidate will also have ability to change weekly schedule to accommodate fall class schedule, once known. The internship will be located in the Capital Circle Office Complex. The Office of Communications intern will provide assistance with the following responsibilities:
• Collecting and distributing relevant news articles to interested parties
• Aiding in the management of the Department’s social media presence
• Researching and drafting content for Department articles
• Creating and managing editorial calendars for Department publications
• Reviewing and editing internal and external communications outputs
• Maintaining and developing distribution lists for media and community contacts
• Additional tasks as assigned
