New Student & Family Programs (NSFP) at Florida State University is looking for a Content Intern that will assist with the design, creation, and posting of social media content for NSFP’s social media platforms. This intern will be crucial in capturing and creating dynamic content to be shared with thousands of current and incoming students and families.

Learning Objectives

  1. The student will oversee the content creation process and be expected to adhere to deadlines, produce quality work, and engage with stakeholders to ensure success.
  2. The student will be able to plan, create, and curate visual content (photos and videos) that aligns with the organization’s brand identity, voice, and marketing objectives.
  3. The student will be able to understand the basics of managing social media channels including scheduling posts, engaging with audiences, and using analytics tools to evaluate performance.
  4. The student will be able to plan and produce visually compelling content through photography and video that effectively communicate messages to our target audience, incorporate relevant trends, and enhance NSFP’s brand.

Requirements

  • Assist in the planning, design, and execution of engaging photo, video, and graphic content for NSFP’s official social media platforms: Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Family Connection.
  • Capture high-quality photos and videos during NSFP events, student programs, and campus activities that highlight the student and family experience at FSU.
  • Schedule, post, and monitor content across multiple platforms, ensuring consistency in tone, voice, and branding.
  • Research and incorporate current social media trends and best practices to increase reach and engagement.
  • Maintain an organized content calendar and track content performance using analytical tools like Sprout, Instagram Insights, and Facebook Analytics.
  • Support other marketing and communication efforts for NSFP as needed, including content brainstorming sessions and special projects.
  • Attend all relevant trainings offered for student employees/interns through the Division of Student Affairs Marketing Office.
  • Other duties and opportunities as assigned.
  • Projects may include: filming or photographing content for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, or Family Connection; being available for content and shoots for NSFP; post ideation and development; posting and managing content

Qualifications

  • Experience with video production and editing, and/or photography and photo editing.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms, including Facebook and Instagram.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a vibrant and high-functioning environment while managing multiple tasks, ensuring quality, and meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrate strong school spirit, excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, and a commitment to supporting students and families, with a passion for social media.

Commitments

  • Complete 8-10 paid, in-person office hours per week.
    • Pay rate would be $17 per hour.
  • Meet weekly or bi-weekly with supervisor for updates and check-ins.

NSFP facilitates dynamic programs and innovative partnerships to support students and families throughout their FSU experience. Our initiatives contribute to student success through first year programs, campus traditions, and leadership development opportunities.
