The Information Technology Services (ITS) unit of FSU manages the computing infrastructure for all of FSU’s IT operations, including networking, student services, financial operations, and human resources. The Linux Enterprise Applications and Systems (LEAS) unit within ITS supports the management of the Linux servers that provide part of the computing infrastructure. We install servers running on virtual machines, bare metal, and AWS and Azure cloud services; configure, manage, and monitor them; and maintain their security. In addition, we manage several core services, including NiFTy, MyWeb, and E-mail lists.

The position requires the ability to write programs/scripts in at least one of the languages Perl, Python, or Bash. The administrator intern should already have some basic Unix or Linux knowledge and be able to interact with the servers using SSH and command-line tools. Familiarity with Ansible would be helpful, though students should be able to learn enough on the job. Some knowledge of basic networking
concepts will also be helpful.
