.50 FTE Game Design Graduate Assistant Position
This .50FTE graduate assistant position will pay $12.18 – $18.68 an hour (pending experience), with tuition waiver being available starting Spring 2014, and has the potential of continuing for another two years.
A major part of this position is to help design a learning game and define the way the game is played and the ‘game experience,’ including
- the rules of the game
- the setting, story, and characters
- different ways the game may be played
Part of this position is to turn original vision and design into a functional game prototype.
Required competencies:
- be creative, imaginative and original
- enjoy IT and playing computer games
- have problem-solving skills
- have design skills
- be fluent in simple behavior scripts: JavaScript or C#
- capable of doing design-based user testing and research
Preferred skills:
- be fluent in scripting with Unity
- be fluent in a number of 3D computer graphics software packages (e.g., Blender and/or Google SketchUp)
