INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY INTERNSHIP WITH THE DIVISION OF RETIREMENT

WHAT WE DO:
The Technology Services section, in the Division of Retirement, oversees all technology-related activities including contracts, expenditures, new solution research, existing solution upgrades or improvements, and serving as liaison between the end user and technical support staff (the division’s technology vendor, 3rd party vendors, and the Office of Information Technology).

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

Students with a study area focused on computer science, information systems, or statistics. Students should also have an interest in analysis of as-is processes, design of recommended automated or improved solutions, and the ability to create intuitive and accurate documentation for end users.

WORK HOURS PER WEEK:

This is a paid internship, $15/hr and students can also earn academic credit with an accredited university or college. Hours are flexible dependent on the necessary requirements.

ACADEMIC TERM: Spring 2023

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Examples of automation projects that are in consideration for an intern to conduct an analysis of as-is processes, design a
recommended automated or improved solution, and create end-user documentation are:
Keepass product solution (securely store and retrieve system credentials)
Adobe Sign product solution (automates the process of collecting electronic signatures)
Power BI product solution (provides staff with a variety of data analysis tools)

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:

During your time at DMS, you will learn the fundamentals of practices of providing logistics and best practices of providing tech services to a large organization, gain skills to facilitate automation and solution planning to meet an eclectic set of business and technical needs.
