St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary (SVDP) seeks a student enrolled in the MSI program for an unpaid internship. The intern will assist the director of the library in routine tasks and research projects.

Summarized activities include:

  • Catalog newly acquired materials according to Library of Congress standards.
  • Perform shelving and filing of returned library materials.
  • Process newly acquired materials.
  • Manage periodical subscriptions and claims.
  • Assist director in locating resources for interlibrary loan requests and faculty research.

 

Computer Responsibilities

  • Trained in use of databases for purpose of assisting patrons
  • Prepare tutorials in digital format designed to assist patrons.

Necessary Skills & Interest

  • Experience using Microsoft Office products.
  • Some experience with digital recording equipment and software.

The goal is to have one intern for a semester or equivalent, supervised in cooperation with the School of Information:
